The European Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated yearly in the context of the Disability Strategy 2010-2020. In 2015, the EDPD focused on children and teenagers with disabilities, who represented of course an important part of the 360 participants. On this occasion, Ecorys took care of the preparation and launch of invitations, the registration process, the travel and accommodation for participants (paying specific attention to all physical and psychical disabilities), the coordination of the catering and technical arrangements (including the live streaming), the production and dissemination of communication materials (including a booklet, braille translations and easy-to-read versions), the adapted transport and shuttle services, the official dinner for all participants, the welcome and on-site assistance, the hiring and briefing for animateurs & interpretation services and hostesses, the liaison with speakers, etc. Our Events team devoted extraordinary efforts to ensure the smooth running of such special event, maintaining fluent communication with all interested parties as well as a 24-7 helpdesk to support the European Commission.
