We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant with specialism in European education. This is a permanent and full-time position although part-time hours will be considered. This role can be based in Brussels or any of our UK offices; London, Leeds or Birmingham.

About the role
The Senior Consultant will join our Policy and Research team which is currently overseeing a number of high-profile policy and programme evaluations and studies for the European Commission. As a Senior Consultant, you will support contract delivery for European-wide education research studies and evaluation contracts. You will have the autonomy to oversee medium-sized multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder projects, controlling research design and implementation, budgets and timescales. You will use a variety of primary, secondary, qualitative and quantitative research methods to collect data as well as statistical analyses and econometric methodologies. Then concluding projects with the production of high quality written reports, presentations, articles and other mediums. In addition to research activities, you will contribute to business development by sourcing, developing, and winning new work for the team and inputting into tender opportunities on our various DG EAC frameworks.
This role requires some European and occasional international travel.
The ideal person
You will be a recognised expert in your field with in-depth knowledge and experience of conducting applied research and evaluation, particularly in the European education sector. You must have prior experience of working for the Directorate Generals of the European Commission and their agencies. You must have substantial prior consultancy or applied research experience. You will have methodological expertise in designing and overseeing research and evaluation, utilising numerous qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as evaluation and impact assessment methodologies. You will have a good quality first degree and ideally Masters degree in European policy, social science, economics, social research methods or related subjects. In addition to strong technical skills, you will need to be equally enthusiastic about business development with a proven track record of proposal writing and winning new business. You will be confident with building and maintaining relationships with clients and working with our large multidisciplinary and multicultural research teams. An excellent level of written English and strong presentation skills are essential. European language skills are highly desirable.
